Thermally Broken Glass Floors

The issue with traditional structural glazing is that you use solid steel or aluminium angles to fix the glass and create a frameless design. This fixing method also creates a thermal bridge from one side of the glass to the other.

The Invisio structural glass solution includes a full thermal break within the fixing angles. This then allows us to create completely frameless glass floors or floor lights with high levels of thermal insulation.

The glass within the structural glass floor can be tailored to your specification but double and triple glazing is easily achievable.

Structural Glass Floor Design

The top layer of the walk on glass is a multi-panel toughened laminated construction which is designed and calculated depending on the pedestrian load required for your project.

There is a selection of glass finishes available for slip resistance including sandblasted glass, ceramic fritting and specialist anti-slip formed glass.

As well as glass floors the Invisio glass floor range can be used to create structural glass bridges and balconies. We can also create glass floors that directly interact with our aluminium doors for patio and balcony designs.

Invisio Glass Floors at Sky House

The Invisio Glass Floor system is available to view in a fully constructed environment at Sky House Design Centre.

The multiple glass floors that are installed at Sky House showcase a range of finishing options for slip resistance and glass specifications. These glass floors are part of the working structure of the building and are travelled over on a daily basis. This allows you to see how the system looks and operates after years of use.
