In the basement of this large family home in Wimbledon aluminium sliding doors were used as access to the small basement courtyard. This sits under the new decking above with natural light penetrating the space via light wells cut into this decking base and protected by glass balustrades.
The three pane sliding glass doors are designed to open to either side of the door opening for a versatile doorway. The large glass panels used allow lots of light to enter the small basement area and when open allow natural ventilation through the underground space.

To the upper floors different configurations and sizes of aluminium windows were used for ventilation and light. The majority of these windows are inwards opening due to the close proximity to neighbouring walls and walkways.
All aluminium frames on this project were powder coated to a light grey colour from the RAL colour chart, the RAL colour system is a standard colouring chart used in manufacture and design, you can view it here.
